UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP DISTRIBUTION (UMGD) PROMOTES ROB HERSHENSON TO VICE PRESIDENT, MARKETING OPERATIONS AND CREATIVE SERVICES

Universal City, CA, August 18, 2010 - Rob Hershenson has been promoted to Vice President of Marketing Operations and Creative Services for Universal Music Group Distribution (UMGD), the award-winning sales, marketing and distribution arm of Universal Music Group, the world’s leading music company. The announcement was made today by Mavis Takemoto, Executive Vice President of Administration and Operations, UMGD, to whom Mr. Hershenson reports.

In this position, Mr. Hershenson will be responsible for overseeing the company’s creative services, merchandising efforts, marketing administration, as well as the development of the company’s sales and marketing support systems.

"Rob is a strategic and innovative executive whose work has become invaluable to UMGD, Universal Music Group and all of its labels," said Ms. Takemoto. "He has been an integral part in improving our automation, efficacy and efficiency, and he has helped put UMGD well ahead of the competition."

Mr. Hershenson was most recently Senior Director of Marketing Operations and Creative Services for UMGD. Prior to that, he was Director of Merchandising for the company, guiding all UMGD label merchandising and fulfillment services. Before joining UMGD, Mr. Hershenson worked at Walt Disney Records in various capacities.
