UNIVERSAL MUSIC LATIN ENTERTAINMENT (UMLE) PROMOTES PEDRO GUZMAN TO VICE PRESIDENT OF A&R FOR UNIVERSAL MUSIC LATINO & MACHETE MUSIC
Los Angeles, CA and Miami, Florida, Friday, February 19, 2010 - Universal Music Latin Entertainment (UMLE), the world’s leading Latin music company, has promoted Pedro Guzman to Vice President of A&R for Universal Music Latino and Machete Music. The announcement was made by Walter Kolm, President of Universal Music Latino and Machete Music, and to whom Mr. Guzman reports. Formerly, Mr. Guzman served as Director of A&R for both labels.
“Since joining us, Pedro has displayed real leadership in a number of key creative areas, and continues to play an integral role in the development and growth of our artists,” stated Mr. Kolm. “We are delighted to expand the playing field for him even further with this well-deserved promotion.”
Mr. Guzman joined Universal Music in 2006 where he served in a variety of positions within the A&R department. During his time with Universal, he has been instrumental in the signings of Eddy Lover, Makano, Chino y Nacho and JKing y Maximan. In 2008, Pedro was voted as one of the Top 30 Executives Under 30 by Billboard Magazine. He has worked closely on projects with such chart-topping artists as Luis Fonsi, Toño Rosario, David Bisbal and Alejandro Fernandez, among others.
