DANGER MOUSE SIGNS WITH UNIVERSAL MUSIC PUBLISHING


London, April 3, 2012
– Universal Music Publishing (UMP) has announced the signing of acclaimed American artist/songwriter/producer Danger Mouse to an exclusive music publishing agreement.

This new deal, which is for the World excluding US and Canada, includes all of Danger Mouse’s new material moving forward and all works written since 2010.

His recent and current projects include significant production and songwriting shares on the Black Keys album El Camino, which was released at the end of last year, the forthcoming Norah Jones album Little Broken Hearts, which is released May 1st, and the debut album from Electric Guest - Mondo- which is released on April 23rd.

Danger Mouse, aka Brian Burton, first  came to prominence in 2004 when he released The Grey Album, which combined vocal performances from Jay-Z's The Black Album with instrumentals from the Beatles' White Album.

He formed Gnarls Barkley with Cee Lo Green and produced the hit albums St. Elsewhere  and The Odd Couple. He also produced the hugely successful second Gorillaz album, Demon Days in 2005 and has been nominated for a Grammy Award in the ‘Producer of the Year’ category five times, winning the award in 2011. In 2009 he collaborated with James Mercer of the indie rock band The Shins to form the critically lauded  Broken Bells and earlier this year he was listed as one of Esquire magazine's seventy-five most influential people of the 21st century.

Danger Mouse is currently producing the new U2 album.
