The Airborne Toxic Event Join VH1's "YOU OUGHTA KNOW" List
The Airborne Toxic Event is an up and coming band hailing from Los Angeles, California. Fans may recognize their song “Sometime Around Midnight,” and its video by acclaimed film director DJ Caruso. The video debuted on MySpace last Friday, May 1st, and was instantly added VH1’s “You Oughta Know” playlist. "Sometime Around Midnight" was named the No.1 Alternative Song of 2008 on iTunes, and has remained in their Alternative Top 5 for over 2 months.
“Sometime Around Midnight” is on the band’s self-titled debut album, which has been steadily picking up steam in sales since its release last August.
The album reached the No. 1 spot atop Billboard’s Heatseekers chart last week!
The press has also taken notice of the record, with magazines such as Newsweek and the Guardian and local papers like the Los Angeles Times and the Boston Globe writing rave reviews about the album. And if all that were not enough to capture fan’s interest, they can also read up on The Airborne Toxic Event in the latest issue of Rolling Stone.
Currently the band is on tour in Europe, and has been selling out every one of their tour dates in their US and UK Spring tours. The Airborne Toxic Event will be returning to the states on May 14th to play on Jimmy Kimmel Live after having already played on Letterman, Conan O’Brien, and The Tonight Show over the past year. The band also played at the highly successful Coachella festival, and for fans who missed that performance they will also be performing at Lollapallooza and The Austin City Limits festival.
