Lil' Wayne, Cash Money and Universal Motown Premiere: "Lollipop"
New Orleans' favorite son, Lil' Wayne, premieres "Lollipop", the debut single from the forthcoming album, The Carter III.
"Lollipop" features the late Static/Major of R&B group Playa and was directed by Gil Green.
Static/Major, whose real name is Stephen Garrett, was a member of the 90's Def Jam Soul group Playa - most widely known for their breakthrough "Cheers 2 U". Aside from being a member of Playa, Static has worked with artists ranging from Aaliyah to Destiny's Child to JAY-Z. The video for "Lollipop" was shot just a few weeks prior to Stephen Garrett's passing.
Gil Green recently directed Flo Rida's "Elevator" video, which was produced by and features Universal Music's Timbaland. Green has worked with a wide range of artists - from the emerging Flo Rida to West Coast OG Too Short.
