Janet Locks Down Times Square with "Discipline" (Part 2)
Janet fans are like postal workers. They rise to the occasion come rain, sleet, snow, or hail. Hundreds of fans lined up in the freezing rain for an entire city block to catch a glimpse of Janet on MTV’s TRL (and then later, her Best Buy In-Store appearance -- check the pictures below).
TRL host Damien Fahey introduced Miss Jackson as the audience had one collective seizure. Janet switched from the sexy business suit during her Good Morning America taping to all black seductive casual with combat boots for the afternoon event.
When asked why she never ages, Janet coyly replied “J-A-C-K-S-O-N.” Fahey then advised Janet that she was the most Googled for 2007, and that was actually a shock to her. She’s too humble for her own good. After discussing her book and how it includes her secrets to weight loss, Damien Fahey asks for tips to tighten his abs and Janet feels him up. Nice.
There was also some talk about rumors circulating regarding a secret marriage between she and Jermaine Dupri. Janet dispelled those rumors much to Fahey’s delight. As Janet’s interview moved to the red sofa, she cringed at the image of herself in the “Feedback” video on the surrounding TV screens. Janet stated that when she and Jermaine are in the studio, she wears the pants. Damien Fahey advised, “They may be tight sexy pants, but they’re pants.” He apologized for coming across creepy; he’s just a fan like the rest of us.
The next segment streamed tracks off Discipline, while Janet discussed the inspiration behind them. During that time, her number one fan, named Ryan, sat in a soundproof room listening to Discipline ready to review it for the TRL crowd. Little did Ryan know she was about to interview Janet.
Following her sweet interview with lots of hugs, Janet hit the stage to perform “Feedback.” The lit bubble dome followed her from the GMA taping as Janet pulled off another flawless performance – this time with an extended guitar solo. It’s amazing to think that just this morning she was jumping around the stage at Nokia Theater performing the same song. Janet can’t stop, won’t stop.
