UMG Artists Conquer The 2009 American Music Awards

Taylor Swift Leads the Pack with 5 Wins Including Artist of the Year

Last night awards show belonged to Taylor Swift who scooped five awards including artist of the year award at the prestigious ceremony that saw performances from UMG artists such as Mary J Blige, The Black Eyed Peas, Timbaland & Nelly Furtado, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and Eminem.

Rihanna's "comeback" performance included a medley of hits from her upcoming release Rated R. Combining "Wait Your Turn" and "Hard," she sounded sharp and stood out in her white, strapped one-piece leotard.
Lady Gaga kept the energy level high as she cracked bottles on her piano and performed new songs from The Fame Monster surrounded by a blaze of fire.

Other UMG winners include Black Eyed Peas for Best Band, Duo or Group (Pop/Rock and Soul/R&B) and Rascal Flatts for Best Country Band.
