Tyrone Wells To Remain On The Road With Upcoming Fall Tout Dates
Acclaimed Singer/Songwriter Also Lands Coveted Music Placements In The Upcoming Promotional Spots for the Season Premieres of Grey’s Anatomy and Cold Case
(New York, NY – September 2009) Universal Republic Records singer/songwriter Tyrone Wells returns to the road headlining the next leg of his REMAIN 2009 TOUR . The tour picks up where his spring headline run left off and hot on the heels of his successful opening slot on Better Than Ezra’s Summer tour. The LA Times recently raved about Wells’ live performance stating “Wells delivers an emotional wallop...” which is something the prolific Wells and company have become known for amongst fans and critics alike.
Wells continues his streak of being a television licensing darling by nabbing promotional spots for two of prime time television’s biggest shows. The fan favorite “Sink Or Swim” has been selected as the music bed for the season premiere spots for the upcoming Grey’s Anatomy season while the title track “Remain” has been tapped by Cold Case for their premiere spots.
Wells ventured to London for Remain to work with in-demand producer/songwriters such as producer/musician Martin Terefe (Jason Mraz, KT Tunstall, James Morrison) and Iain Archer (UK indie artist and Snow Patrol co-writer) in the UK. The Spokane, WA native also clocked intensive studio time in the states for the new CD, huddling with former OneRepublic ace Tim Myers, former Evanescence star David Hodges, Matt Scannell of Vertical Horizon and producer Smidi.
Unleashing a much more guitar-edged work than Wells' previous efforts - the album soars with unforgettable songs such as “Losing Ground,” “Sink Or Swim,” and the instantly recognizable title track, “Remain.” “More,” the album’s first single, has already received placement in the promos for the new season of “Intervention” on A&E and was used in the trailers for Cameron Diaz’s latest feature, “My Sister's Keeper.” The song compliments the powerful images perfectly and has already made a strong impact on its viewers.
This latest run of shows has Tyrone routing through an array of markets kicking off on September 9th in Boise at the Alive After Five concert series and continuing with stops in Boston for two shows at the 939 Café on October 2nd, New York’s Highline Ballroom on October 7th, in Chicago at the Lakeshore Theatre on October 10th and La Zona Rosa in Austin on October 21st to name a few. The tour wraps up in Boise, ID at Reef on November 18th. Always one to showcase the best new talent on the road with him, this time Wells sets out with Matt Hires, who just released his debut album on August 25th. The Myriad opens shows on the East Coast and Midwest with Stephen Kellogg & the Sixers joining for the West Coast dates.
The Spokane, WA native’s desire to ‘open up the process’ on Remain creates a lush and powerful dynamic, with Wells' displaying a laser-like focus that has enabled him to chart his own course from the very beginning. The singer/songwriter launched his career via his first indie release with the unvarnished delivery of 2003’s Snapshot. An in-demand live offering followed in 2005: Close: Live at McClain’s, (the coffeehouse where he established his raved-about live rep) capturing the singer’s unique intimacy with an audience.
Soon, major labels came calling. By the dawn of his March, 2007 release, the soulful Hold On, the acclaim surrounding Wells’ mesmerizing live show and sprawling repertoire was also beginning to land him song placements in films and TV shows, such as “One Tree Hill,” “Everyone’s Hero,” “Rescue Me,” “Ghost Whisperer,” “Numbers,” “Criminal Minds,” “Army Wives,” and many more. Wells' Remain is available online and in stores now.
