Shockwaves NME Awards 2008: Klaxons Take "Best Album", Kate Nash "Best Solo Artist" and The Killers "Best Int'l Band"
Universal Music cleaned up at this year's NME Shockwave Awards.
Congratulations to Kate Nash (Best Solo Artist), Klaxons (Best Live Band) and The Killers (Best International Band) who all took home awards.
Kate Nash's debut album, Made of Bricks, made it to the top of the UK charts following its August 2007 release across the pond (Made of Bricks was released in the US in January of this year). Kate was skyrocketed to the spotlight by her single "Foundations".
Myths Of The Near Future, Klaxons first album, debuted at the #2 spot on the UK charts (they were beat out only by the multi-grammy winning Norah Jones).
This year's "Best International Artist" award marks The Killers' 5th NME Award. They won their last award at 2007's show when they took home "Best Video" with "Bones".
