R&B Legends Cover Legendary Motown Classics

With more than 60 million records sold, Boyz II Men is the most successful R&B Male Group of all time. On three separate occasions – “End of the Road”, “I’ll Make Love to You,” and “One Sweet Day” – they broke and set the record for a single being #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. They are one of only three artists to ever knock themselves off the top of the same chart.

Boyz II Men’s newest release, Motown: A Journey Through Hitsville USA, which hit stores this week (11/13/07), is their 1st major release since Full Circle (2002). The album, which was co-produced by American Idol’s Randy Jackson, features covers of classic Motown songs including “Just My Imagination”, “Mercy, Mercy Me” and “Ain’t Nothing Like the Real Thing”.

Jackson, who has worked with artists ranging from Mariah Carey, Bruce Springsteen, Madonna and Aretha Franklin, pushed the group to record the album with a live band in the studio – for the 1st time in their career. He said of Boyz II Men and Hitsville, “The mixture of the classic Motown sound and today's R&B soul is what makes this album truly unique."

The most successful male R&B group of all time performing some of the most memorable, classic Motown tracks is certainly something that any fan of music will appreciate.
