Ne-Yo, Robin Thicke & The Knux to Play Live at Essence Music Festival 2009
This year’s Essence Music Festival, held at the New Orleans Superdome from July 3rd through the 5th, marks the festival’s 15th anniversary, and will feature stars such as Ne-Yo, Robin Thicke, The Knux and many more. In honor of this milestone, the festival will be offering a 15% discount on select tickets through this Saturday, January 31st. In an interview with the Associated Press the president of Essence Communication Inc., Michelle Ebanks, said that the festival’s 15 years of success are “a real testament to the legacy of the brand,” which she explained “was designed with such care.”
"That's the wonderful thing about Essence," Ebanks said. "It's not one particular genre of music. It's a celebration of the music of our lives, of all the music that we know and love."
The festival had its biggest turnout last year with more than 270,000 attendees, and with such a roster of performers slated for this year’s musical performances the festival has the potential to do at least as well.
Fan’s who want to attend the Essence Music Festival can purchase tickets through Ticketmaster.com. Ticket prices for the festival range from $51-$173 for one day, to $130.50-$495 for the entire weekend. As always the festival will feature its popular empowerment seminars during the day, which are free for all ticket holders on a first-come first-served basis.
