Kanye West's sneaker the Air Yeezy available April 4th
The Nike Air Yeezy is the brainchild of none other than hip-hop superstar Kanye West. The sneaker has been in the works for some time now, with talks about its eventual production beginning as early as August 2007.
The sneakers play on the title of Kanye’s last tour, the Glow in the Dark Tour, with the signature Nike swoosh being glow in the dark. The sneaker was inspired by Kanye’s favorite Nike sneaker, the Air Jordan III (3), whose mid-sole makeup was used for the Air Yeezy.
A majority of the Air Yeezy styles and colorways will be limited releases, and will available for purchase starting April 4th. However, fans shouldn’t worry about being able to get their hands on a pair – since Kanye has been kind enough to request that the shoes be shelved at many more store locations than previously expected. The sneaker will be retailing for $215.
