Jack Johnson's "Sleep Through The Static" Debuts at #1, Shatters Digital Record

Hawaiian-born singer-songwriter Jack Johnson is no stranger to success. In the last 5 years, the Universal Republic/Brushfire Records artist has had 3 straight albums break through the "Top 10" on the US Charts, culminating with a #1 ranking with 2006 album Sing-A-Longs and Lullabies for the Film Curious George.

Jack has turned his attention to a new realm of achievement. For the week of 2/4/08, Johnson broke the “Best Single Week Sales” record on iTunes with nearly 140,000 digital copies of recently released ”Sleep Through the Static”. In total, almost 40% of Sleep Through the Static's 375,000 copies were sold digitally.

Earning #1 ranking on the US, UK, Canadian and Japanese charts, Sleep Through the Static, has certainly met fans' expectations.

Sleep Through The Static was recorded solely on solar energy. Let’s hope the sun continues to shine on Jack.
