Introducing Kate Earl, A Singer-Songwriter from Alaska
Kate Earl, a 28 year old soul singer from Alaska, has just been announced as the newest member of the Universal Republic roster, which includes talents such as Amy Winehouse, Colbie Caillat and Jack Johnson.
Based in Los Angeles, Kate has not always lived such a glamorous life. Her parents, Chuck and Pompi, owned and operated a gas station in Alaska, where Kate worked day after day through her teenage years. She says she discovered music as a means of escaping from her cold and lonely surroundings, learning piano at age 4, joining the choir and at 17, taught herself to play guitar.
Kate's upcoming album is slated for release this summer, was recording between San Francisco, LA, New York and Atlanta. Her new EP, Introducing Kate Earl is available on 6/9/2009 on iTunes and includes her beautiful single "Melody".
Listen to the tracks now on Kate's website, and make sure to get your copy on 6/9!
