Black Tide to Release Long-Awaited Debut 'Light From Above' March 18

The wait is over. On March 18, Black Tide will release Light From Above, their much-anticipated full-length debut on Interscope Records. Produced and Mixed by Johnny K [Disturbed, Finger Eleven, Machine Head], and recorded at K's Groovemaster Studios in Chicago, the release will be the culmination of a busy year for Miami-based teens, who shared last summer's OZZfest mainstage with Ozzy Osbourne and Lamb of God, and closed 2007 on the road in support of Avenged Sevenfold.

Currently touring with All That Remains and Chimaira, Black Tide -- lead singer/guitarist Gabriel Garcia (15), guitarist Alex Nunez (18), bassist Zakk Sandler (19) and drummer Steven Spence (19) -- will kick off a headlining run March 9, in Columbus, OH. The dates will be anchored by the band's CD release party March 19, at the Key Club on the legendary Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, CA.

Despite the fact that Garcia wasn't even alive during the Sunset Strip's celebrated heyday, Black Tide's no-holds-barred style of play already reminds many of hard rock and heavy metal's more spirited days.
Spin magazine hails their, "jaw-dropping virtuosity," as, "a combination of Megadeth riffage, Metallica brutality and Guns N' Roses melodicism," [February 2008] and Revolver magazine agrees, describing their music as, "fueled by aggressively raw, streamlined thrash-metal riffs and tempered with catchy, hard rock choruses ... trading off rapid-fire guitar licks and searing, blindingly fast solos with surefooted precision." [March 2008]
