Justin Bieber's "Baby" Music Video Hits One Billion Views Across Vevo!

“Baby” is Vevo’s Most Viewed Music Video Ever

Fans Mobilize to Push "Baby" to 10X Certified Before Singer's 20th Birthday

Justin Bieber's music video "Baby" has delivered more than one billion views across Vevo, making it the most watched clip ever on the world's all-premium music video and entertainment platform.

The music video that made him a household name, "Baby" is 10x certified- and Bieber is the youngest artist to reach the milestone. With his 20th birthday approaching on Saturday, March 1, Bieber's "Beliebers" fan base made a concerted effort across social media last week to encourage viewing of the video ensuring the star would reach the one billion mark while still a teenager.

"Baby" is the only music video to be 10x certified across Vevo. The video, along with six other Bieber clips ("Never Say Never," "One Time," "Somebody To Love," "Never Let You Go," "One Less Lonely Girl," "Love Me"), was among Vevo's inaugural certified class when the 100 million views milestone program was unveiled in June 2012. Bieber's "Mistletoe," "Boyfriend," "Beauty and a Beat" and "As Long As You Love Me" videos have since joined Vevo's 100 million views club, giving the singer 11 certified music videos.

Vevo's video view counts represent the only definitive and official metric across all digital platforms. Vevo's is the #1 music video platform with far-reaching scale and reach, including web, mobile/tablet and TV apps as well as its syndication partner sites like AOL, Yahoo! Music and YouTube. Videos "certified" by Vevo have achieved a similar milestone to that of the RIAA's Gold and Platinum certification for audio.

Justin Bieber rewrote history with the  #1 debut of his last full-length album, Believe Acoustic. He became the first-ever artist to earn five #1 albums before his 19th birthday! Believe Acoustic debuted #1 on SoundScan, with first week sales totaling 211,000 units, and was also #1 on iTunes in more than 60 countries. Separately, this accomplishment makes Bieber just the 10th act to achieve a #1 album in four consecutive years.  He joins A-listers Jay-Z (seven years), the Beatles (six years), and Paul McCartney/Wings (five years) in holding that rare distinction.

With worldwide album sales in excess of 15 million units, Bieber has dominated pop culture and social media—more than 63 million Facebook fans and 50 million Twitter followers. And, having accrued three billion YouTube views, Justin Bieber is far and away the most popular YouTube artist of all time. With those numbers in the bank, Bieber was a lock for 2012 Social Artist of the Year as bestowed by the Billboard Music Awards. In 2013, Bieber was honored with three more Billboard Awards: Top Male Artist; Top Social Artist; Billboard’s first-ever Milestone Award, selected by fans for musical innovation and ingenuity.
