FONTANA TO DISTRIBUTE STRANGE MUSIC
'Everready' by Tech N9ne Debuts at #2 on Soundscan Indie Chart
LOS ANGELES, November 17, 2006 - Fontana, the independent distribution arm of Universal Music Group, the world's leading music company, has signed an exclusive distribution deal with Kansas City, MO-based Strange Music. The announcement was made today by Steve Pritchitt, Executive Vice President & General Manager of Fontana, and Travis O'Guin, President of Strange Music.
Under the new agreement, Fontana will work closely with Strange on expanding the label's reach in the marketplace, building and extending its brand and helping Strange to capitalize on the many new and emerging opportunities across a variety of retail and new media platforms.
"We have been wanting to work with Travis and Tech for some time," stated Pritchitt. "Together, they embody the very essence of creative leadership at its best. In a relatively short time, they have built Strange into a key player in the indie music world. The label's first release under its deal with Fontana, 'Everready', from artist and co-founder of Strange Music, Tech N9ne, has already garnered significant critical acclaim since its release on November 7th. 'Everready' debuted this week at #2 on the nation's top independent albums chart.
