JESUS LOPEZ MAKES KEY EXECUTIVE APPOINTMENTS
Victor Gonzalez promoted to President of Universal Music Mexico & Central America
Manuel Peña promoted to Managing Director of South Cone (Argentina, Chile, Uruguay)
MIAMI, FL, June 2, 2006– Victor Gonzalez has been named President Universal Music Mexico & Central America (based in Mexico City, Mexico), and Manuel Peña has been named Managing Director, South Cone (based in Buenos Aires, Argentina). Pena will have responsibilities over Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay. The announcement was made today by Jesus Lopez, Chairman/CEO, Universal Music Latin America & Iberian Peninsula, to whom both will report.
Gonzalez takes on these new responsibilities after spending three successful years as Managing Director of South Cone (Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay). Prior to this, he served as Senior Vice President of Operations at the Latin America Regional Office in Miami.
Pena will succeed Victor in his new role. Pena commenced his tenure with the Universal Music family in Spain where he served in a number of key positions, including Director of Strategic Marketing and Director of the Universal Division. He was later promoted to his most recent position of Managing Director of Central America in Costa Rica.
