STEVE WENGERT APPOINTED VICE PRESIDENT OF CATALOG, CLASSICS, JAZZ AND ASSOCIATED LABELS, UNIVERSAL MUSIC & VIDEO DISTRIBUTION

Santa Monica, California, April 5, 2004 — Steve Wengert has been appointed Vice President of Catalog, Classics, Jazz and Associated Labels for Universal Music & Video Distribution (UMVD), it was announced today by Mike Davis, Senior Vice President, Sales, UMVD.

Based in Universal City, Mr. Wengert will report directly to Mr. Davis. In this position, he will manage the sales and marketing activities for catalog, classical, jazz and associated labels within North America. Additionally, he will be responsible for exploring new formats.

Mr. Davis commented, “Steve’s extensive background in retail, marketing and distribution makes him a perfect fit for this position. I’ve worked with Steve for many years and I’m thrilled to welcome him back to the UMVD family.”

Added Tom O’Malley, Executive Vice President, UMVD, “Steve’s proven track record and intimate knowledge of the music industry will enable him to make immediate and significant contributions. He will certainly be a valuable addition to our team.”

Most recently, Mr. Wengert was the West Coast National Label Representative for Interscope Geffen A&M Records where he played an integral role in creating national exposure for developing artists. Previously he held several sales positions at UMVD, including Senior Account Executive. Among many achievements, Mr. Wengert was named UMVD “Sales Person of the Year” for 1998-1999.
