Santa Monica, February 21, 2018 — Vince Szydlowski has been appointed Executive Vice President of Commercial Sales for Universal Music Enterprises (UMe), it was announced today by Bruce Resnikoff, President/CEO, UMe.  In his new position, Szydlowski will oversee UMe’s commercial business, including the development and execution of UMe’s strategies in both the digital & physical space. He will work closely with all UMG labels and all UMG partners to maximize commercial opportunities for the world’s largest music catalog.

Szydlowski comes to UMe directly from his role as Senior Vice President of Label Sales for Capitol Music Group, a position he held since mid-2014.  At Capitol, Szydlowski had an active hand in the planning and execution of the commercial success for such key artists as Sam Smith, Katy Perry, Lil Yachty, Niall Horan, Beck and many others. Previously he was the Vice President of National Sales for Universal Music Group Distribution (UMGD), a position he held for seven years.  At UMGD, he managed and developed national sales account teams representing Universal Music Group labels to key accounts and partners including Apple, Google, YouTube & Amazon. He also worked closely with label and vendor partners to establish robust promotional release campaigns, negotiate business terms and develop and execute business strategies.

Prior to joining the UMG family in 2004, Szydlowski was the Senior Director of Product for Virgin Entertainment Group for six years, overseeing the retail chain’s product purchasing, merchandising and promotion.  He began his industry career at Virgin in 1992.
