LOS ANGELES, February 25, 2021 – Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG), a leading, global music publisher, today announced that Grammy Award-nominated artist and songwriter Julia Michaels has been signed to an exclusive, global publishing agreement.

One of the best-known songwriters in music today, Michaels has written for some of music’s biggest artists across genres including Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, Janelle Monáe, Fifth Harmony, Ed Sheeran, John Legend, Demi Lovato, Dua Lipa, The Chicks, Britney Spears, Keith Urban, Niall Horan, Shawn Mendes, Zedd and P!NK, among others.

To date, Michaels has co-written 25 titles that have charted on the Billboard Hot 100 including two No. 1 hits: Bieber’s “Sorry” (8x Platinum) and Gomez’s “Lose You to Love Me.” 14 of her songs have charted in the top 40, including her debut single “Issues.” She co-created Multiplatinum and Platinum songs like Hailee Steinfeld’s “Love Myself,” Gomez’s “Hands to Myself” and “Bad Liar” and Nick Jonas’ “Close.”

After signing as a solo artist signed to Republic Records, Michaels released her 5x Platinum-selling debut single “Issues,” followed by three critically acclaimed EPs: ‘Nervous System,’ ‘Inner Monologue Part 1’ and ‘Inner Monologue Part 2.’ She has received two Grammy Award nominations for Song of the Year and one for Best New Artist. In September 2020, Michaels released “Lie Like This,” the lead single from her forthcoming debut studio album.
