Universal City, California, March 21, 2005 — Yolanda Macias has been appointed Vice President, Business Development and Acquisitions, Universal Music and Video Distribution (UMVD)/Visual Entertainment, it was announced today by Tom O’Malley, Executive Vice President, UMVD.

Based at UMVD’s headquarters in Universal City, Macias will source new video content, providing research, analysis and development expertise. She will also drive alternative revenues by securing studio partnerships and negotiating third party deals.

“We are proud that Yolanda is joining our executive team. As an industry veteran she has played critical roles in launching and building media businesses,” said O’Malley. “We will benefit greatly from her long history of successfully sourcing acquisitions in the entertainment industry.”

Before joining UMVD, Macias was Vice President, DIRECTV PARA TODOS and International Services for DIRECTV, Inc. There, she oversaw all aspects of the DIRECTV Spanish-language programming service as well as international and ethnic programming developments for the DIRECTV service. Other senior positions include Manager of Business Planning and Analysis for Technicolor and Manager of Planning and Acquisitions at The Walt Disney Company.

Macias served on the board of directors for the T. Howard Foundation, promoting the employment of minorities in the satellite industry. She received her MBA from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University.
