Miami, Florida, July 17, 2007 – David Renzer, Chairman & CEO of Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG), the world’s leading music publishing company, and Eddie Fernandez, the company’s Senior Vice President of Latin America, today announced senior appointments for UMPG’s integrated Latin music operation. The appointments follow the recent close by Universal Music Group of its acquisition of BMG Music Publishing, making the new UMPG the largest publishing company in the world.

These new appointments represent executive talent from both UMPG and the former BMG, and will report directly to Mr. Fernandez. They include:

* Marcelo C. Falcão, who has been named Managing Director of Brazil

* Yadira Moreno, who has been appointed Managing Director of Mexico

* Ana Maria de Visaggio, who has been named General Manager of Argentina

* Carmen Valencia, who has been appointed General Manager of Chile

* Sonia Amaya, who has been named Managing Director of Colombia

* and, Rafael Artero, who has been appointed Vice President of Creative, U.S. Latin

Most recently, Mr. Falcão served as Managing Director of BMG Music Publishing Brazil, where he successfully expanded BMG’s roster from mainly older samba writers to include a broader range of contemporary writers such as Vanessa da Matta (Sony), Antonio Villeroy (Warner), Dadi (Som Livre), Arnaldo Antunes (Biscoito Fino) and DiBob (Som Livre), among many others. His extensive background also includes stints at BMG Brasil Ltda, Top Tape Discos, Promoter Concerts Ltda, Globo Radio Network and Mantra Mgmt, Publishing and Production. From 2004-2006, Mr. Falcão served as President of ABER (Associação Brasileira de Editoras Reunidas), the Brazilian Publishers’ Association. Presently, he serves as a Director and Member of the Board of ABRAMUS (Associação Brasileira de Musica), the country’s performance rights society.

Prior to UMPG, Ms. Moreno had served as Managing Director of BMG Music Publishing Mexico since 2003. Under her leadership, the company built a thriving roster of established and emerging writers across the Latin American region. Her signings include: Leonel García, lead member of the multi-platinum awarded band Sin Bandera; platinum-selling singer-songwriters Kalimba, HaAsh, Reyli, Braulio Muro (Horóscopos de Durango) and Mauricio Arriaga (RBD); and awarded-winning producer Loris Ceroni. Formerly, Ms. Moreno served as Coordinator of the Latin Region for Sony Music. Her background also includes serving as Director of Publishing for Sony/ATV Venezuela.

Ms. Visaggio began her tenure in the music industry at CBS Records in operations then segued to RCA Publishing, where she was eventually named Managing Director of Relay (RCA Publishing Company, now BMG). Ms. Visaggio later joined Polygram Music Publishing (now Universal Music Publishing). As General Manager of Argentina, Ms. Visaggio’s signings include Charly Garcia, Sandro, Horacio Guarany, Babasonicos, Jaime Roos, Memphis La Blusera, Roberto Ternan, Marcelo Wengrovski, Juan Blas Caballero, Anderle Inheritors, Axel, Arbol, Cesar Franco and Infierno 18, among many others.

Carmen Valencia began her career in the music industry in 1984 working for the Chilean Society of the Author’s Rights where she headed the Department of Distribution of Rights. In 1995, she joined Polygram to develop the area of Royalties and Publishing. In 1997, she was named Manager of Polygram Music Chile, which was later acquired by Universal Music Group and renamed Universal Music Publishing Chile. Her roster includes La Ley, Pablo Herrera, Daniel Guerrero, Delisse, Valencia Carmen and Mente Enferma, among others. In 2000, Ms. Valencia was named President of the Music Publishing’s Gremial Association of Chile, a position that she still holds. Moreover, Ms. Valencia represents publishers in the Foundation of National Music, and is a member of the National Council of Music, where she works jointly with the Ministry of Culture for the development of policies of Promotion of Music in Chile.

Sonia Amaya has been working with UMPG Colombia since 1998 as a legal consultant, and has expanded the company’s roster to include such key signings as Jose Gaviria, Tres de Corazon, Mauricio & Palo de Agua, and Sanalejo, among others. Ms. Amaya began her career as a lawyer and manager.

Formerly, Mr. Artero served as Vice President of Creative, U.S. Latin for BMG Music Publishing, where he was responsible for signing Pitbull, Sergio Vallin (Mana), Mach and Daddy, and Adassa, as well as such writers as Pieragostino and Vergara (David Bisbal, Montez de Durango). Prior to joining BMG, Mr. Artero served as Senior Manager & Marketing at EMI Music Publishing Spain, where he signed and developed such emerging artists as Estopa, Los Rabanes, Orishas and Ojos de Brujo, among others. His background also includes stints at multimedia Spanish company Grupo Prisa, Canal Plus and Canal Satelite Digital. Mr. Artero received a degree in journalism from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and a Master’s Degree in radio broadcasting from the Colegio Mayor Santillana in Madrid.
