Alfredo Delgadillo Appointed General Manager Universal Music Mexico;

Fernando Grediaga Appointed Director of Marketing Universal Music Mexico



Los Angeles, CA, January 29, 2013 – Universal Music Latin Entertainment has appointed Alfredo Delgadillo to General Manager, Universal Music Mexico, and Fernando Grediaga to Director of Marketing, Universal Music Mexico.  These appointments were announced today by Víctor González, President of UMLE.

“As a result of the integration of Universal-EMI in Mexico, we are pleased to have two young but seasoned executives to provide leadership to our excellent team,” stated Mr. González.

In his new role, Mr. Delgadillo will oversee operations for Universal Music Mexico, reporting to Víctor González.  Based in Mexico City, he brings over 14 years of music business experience, most recently serving as Commercial & Music Services Director for EMI Music Mexico. Mr. Delgadillo began with the company in 2003 as Subdirector of Marketing International, and he was a key player in one of the most important digital deals in Mexico with Robbie Williams and Sony Ericsson. He was promoted to Marketing Director in 2006 where he created new marketing strategies and digital opportunities for developing projects such as Lola, 30 Seconds To Mars, Joss Stone and Corinne Bailey Rae, as well as established artists such as RBD, Edith Marquez, Timbiriche, RBD, Shaila Durcal, Robbie Williams and Norah Jones.

Also based in Mexico City, Fernando Grediaga will report to Alfredo Delgadillo. Mr. Grediaga will lead the Universal Music Mexico Marketing team, creating and implementing strategies for the diverse roster of Universal Music artists.  With 12 years of experience in the music industry, he most recently served as Director of Marketing Latino & Anglo at EMI Music Mexico. He began with the company in 2006 as Subdirector of Marketing Latino/Director Labels Mexico and was later promoted to Artistic Director A&R. Throughout his career he has worked with artists such as Aleks Syntek, Belinda, Alejandra Guzmán, Pablo Alborán, Moderatto, David Guetta, Coldplay and Katy Perry. Prior to his tenure at EMI Music Mexico, he worked as a Radio Promoter for Universal Music Mexico, before being promoted to Label Manager, International and Latino.  He has also worked with Grupo Imagen Telecomunicaciones, Grupo Editorial Televisa and Grupo Editorial Neón. 

Moreover, Jesús López, Chairman & CEO, Universal Music Latin America & Iberian Peninsula thanked Robbie Lear and José Puig, who are leaving the company:
