Los Angeles, California, May 11, 2007 – Universal Music Group (UMG), the world’s leading music company, has promoted Rio Caraeff to Executive Vice President of eLabs/General Manager of Universal Music Mobile (UMM), it was announced today by Zach Horowitz, President & Chief Operating Officer of UMG, and to whom Mr. Caraeff reports. Formerly, Mr. Caraeff served as Vice President & General Manager of Universal Music Mobile.

In this expanded role, Mr. Caraeff will continue to oversee all of UMG’s mobile operations, but will also be responsible for leading the implementation of the company’s digital strategy, working closely with all of UMG’s subsidiary labels and divisions, and exploring, developing and maximizing all of the new digital opportunities and business models emerging in the marketplace.

Prior to joining Universal Music Mobile, Mr. Caraeff was Vice President of Wireless Services for Sony Pictures Digital, where he established the worldwide mobile entertainment publishing and licensing division for Sony Pictures Entertainment. Formerly, he founded and was Managing Partner of Fabric Group, LLC, a media and technology consulting firm. His background also includes stints as Vice President of Business Development & Investments for Sony 550 Digital Media Ventures and various positions at entertainment companies such as Capitol Records and Propaganda Films.
