UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP PROMOTES JOE DETULLIO TO EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT AND CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER
New York, NY, August 12, 2004 – Universal Music Group (UMG), the world’s leading music company, has promoted Joe DeTullio to Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer, it was announced today by UMG Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer Nick Henny. Mr. DeTullio will continue to be based out of UMG’s New York offices. Formerly, Mr. DeTullio served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer.
In this expanded role, Mr. DeTullio will have direct responsibility for UMG’s information technology infrastructure and business applications services and solutions worldwide. In this capacity, Mr. DeTullio will play a pivotal leadership role in the delivery new IT solutions to enable UMG’s continued transformation of business operations as well as ensure that the company’s existing IT solutions are effectively managed and leveraged. Mr. DeTullio will Chair a newly established IT Council comprised of key business stakeholders. Among other objectives, the IT council will focus on providing company-wide oversight to IT investment priorities.

Mr. DeTullio transferred to UMG in September 2001 as part of Vivendi Universal’s divestiture of the Seagram Spirits and Wine Group, where Mr. DeTullio served as Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Mr. DeTullio is a graduate of Rutger’s University and holds a Masters of Public Administration from American University.
