UMVD HONORS WASHINGTON, D.C. REGION WITH HENRY DROZ AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN ARTISTIC DEVELOPMENT
Universal City, April 4, 2006 – Jim Urie, President of Universal Music and Video Distribution (UMVD), the U.S. sales and distribution division of Universal Music Group, the world’s leading music company, recently awarded the Washington, D.C. region with the Henry Droz Award for Outstanding Achievement in Artist Development – the company’s highest honor.
Named for UMVD’s late Chairman Emeritus, this annual award recognizes the regional staff that has the greatest impact on the sales of developing artists. This is the third time the Washington, DC region, led by Marketing Director Kevin Lipson, has achieved this honor. Other regional teams which have previously won this award include Los Angeles, Boston, Atlanta and Seattle.
