New York, NY – May 13, 2009 – UMPG songwriter/producer Greg Curtis was named Songwriter of the Year and received an award for “I Remember,” (Keyshia Cole) which spent seven weeks at the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s R&B/Hip Hop chart. A respected and popular musician, Curtis has also become of music’s most in-demand songwriters/producers working from everyone from Destiny’s Child, Dionne Warwick, Jennifer Hudson, Joe and Whitney Houston. Propelled by his songwriting and production work on a variety of projects throughout the years, Curtis has recently seen significant success of late with major hits by Yolanda Adams including the smash “Victory” which earned him a GRAMMY award. Most recently, Keyshia Cole realized huge hits with the Greg Curtis-penned songs “Love” and “I Remember.”

UMPG’s Balewa Muhammed received multiple wins for his songs “The Way I Are” (Timbaland) and “The River” (Noel Gourdin). Muhammad’s “The Way I Are” penned for Timbaland reached No. 1 on the Pop 100, Pop 100 Airplay, and Top 40 Mainstream charts and Top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100, Hot Digital Songs, and Rhythmic Top 40. “The River” appeared near the top of the charts on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks.
