Universal City, California, January 24, 2005 — Universal Music & Video Distribution (UMVD), the award-winning sales, marketing and distribution subsidiary of market leader Universal Music Group, today named Steve Pritchitt to the position of General Manager of Fontana, UMVD’s new independent distribution arm. The announcement was made today by Jim Urie, President of UMVD.

In his new role, Pritchitt will oversee all day-to-day activities for Fontana, and work closely with Urie to grow the company as a specialized distributor for independent music labels. Pritchitt will be based at Fontana’s Universal City headquarters.

Prior to joining Fontana, Pritchitt served as Senior Vice President and General Manager for leading independent distributor, Navarre Entertainment Media, where he worked closely with such successful labels and distributors including One Little Indian, Pookie Records, Studio Distribution and DRT Entertainment. His background also includes stints as Senior Vice President of International for Atlantic Records and Vice President of Business Development and Content Acquisition for eSplice, Inc., a provider for private-label entertainment online stores.
