Universal City, California, September 27, 2004 — Soumya Sriraman has been appointed Vice President of Marketing and Operations, Universal Music and Video Distribution (UMVD)/Visual Entertainment, it was announced today by Tom O’Malley, Executive Vice President, UMVD.

Based at UMVD’s headquarters in Universal City, Ms. Sriraman will oversee all departmental marketing and operational functions.

“Soumya’s extensive marketing and operations background, fresh perspective and keen insights make her an ideal fit for our exciting new division,” stated Mr. O’Malley. “We are looking forward to her immediate contributions.”

Most recently, Ms. Sriraman was Director of Marketing at Warner Home Video where she was responsible for key TV franchise properties including Friends and West Wing. Prior to that, she was Director of Brand Marketing for Universal Studios Home Video, spearheading the successful re-launches of Scarface and Animal House on DVD. In her prior capacity as Senior Manager of Category Management for UMVD, Ms. Sriraman was responsible for crafting retail planning strategies for non-vendor-managed accounts and leading category management activities for key mass retailers including Kmart and Wal*Mart.

Ms. Sriraman holds an M.S. in Transportation Engineering from Texas A&M University and an M.B.A. from University of California, Irvine.
