New York, NY, January 25, 2007 – Shep Goodman has been appointed Vice President of A&R for Universal Motown Records, it was announced today by Andrew Kronfeld, General Manager of Universal Motown Records.

“Shep brings to Universal Motown a discerning eye for talent, uncommon street sensibility, and great instincts for realizing the potential of both underground and mainstream acts,” stated Mr. Kronfeld. “His hands-on experience will be invaluable as he joins us in developing the next generation of Universal Motown artists.”

Sylvia Rhone, President of Universal Motown Records also commented: “Shep possesses a wide lens into the creative landscape. His passion and enthusiasm, coupled with his wealth of experience behind the boards and on the firing line as both a songwriter and label entrepreneur will add a unique perspective to our A&R department. Shep, a longtime partner in the production team known as “Shep & Kenny,” has worked as a producer, songwriter and A&R representative in the music industry for over a decade, forming Evil Robot Records, which has been affiliated with modern rock, punk, and pop music. Artists that Shep Goodman has worked with include Bayside, Punchline, Straylight Run, Mandy Moore, LFO, Paulina Rubino, Lee Ann Womack, Head Automatica, Cute Is What We Aim For and more.

Shep Goodman began his career in the music business as the lead singer/songwriter in the band Coward.
