February 26, 2007 – New York, NY – Sam Dailey has been promoted to Vice President, Sales, Island Def Jam Music Group, it was announced today by Jim Roppo, Senior Vice President, Sales, Island Def Jam Music Group.

In his new role, Mr. Dailey will implement and execute IDJ’s sales and retail marketing strategies with Universal Music Group Distribution (UMGD) and the IDJ sales team nationally. He will oversee IDJ’s field marketing staff in the design and planning of strategic retail campaigns. Mr. Dailey, who is based in New York, will report directly to Mr. Roppo.

“Sam has been a highly valuable contributor to IDJ’s success over the past 5 years. His creativity, experience, productivity and results oriented approach make him uniquely qualified and the obvious choice to help lead the Sales team” said Mr. Roppo. “I’m thrilled to have the privilege of promoting him to Vice President.”

Mr. Dailey is a five year veteran of the IDJ Music Group, having served in the positions of West Coast Sales Director and East Coast Sales Director since 2002. During that time, he was instrumental in IDJ being named Transworld Entertainment Label of the Year in 2005. He began his career in music at PolyGram Group Distribution in Dallas in 1994, where he was named College Rep of the Year. The following year he moved to Denver, where he was named PGD Field Marketing Rep of the Year. In 1996, he began a two year stint in Los Angeles, where he was named PGD Artist Development Representative of the Year in 1997. This was followed by one year as PGD Sales Regional, Independent Label Sales in Atlanta.

When PolyGram was acquired by Seagram and merged into the Universal Music Group Distribution in 1999, Mr. Dailey was promoted to Senior Director of Artist Development for UMGD in Los Angeles. During his three years in that post prior to joining IDJ, he received the UMGD Star Performer Award in 2000. Mr. Dailey attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, where he was graduated in 1993, Magna Cum Laude with the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business, and Magna Cum Laude with the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Foreign Languages.
