LONDON, February 17, 2010 – Olivier Robert-Murphy has been promoted to Head of International Business Development for Universal Music Group International (UMGI), with immediate effect. The appointment was announced today by Rob Wells, Senior VP, Digital, at UMGI, to whom he reports.
Universal Music Group is the world’s leading music company. UMGI is the division which manages its businesses in more than 50 countries outside North America.
In his new role, Robert-Murphy assumes responsibility for UMGI’s new business activities including strategic marketing partnerships, international research, new revenue streams, brand partnerships, premiums and the company’s media-buying through its partner, Mediacom.
Robert-Murphy was VP, International Strategic Marketing at UMGI, overseeing audiovisual activities, consumer & commercial marketing, and catalogue exploitation. He has been with the company since 2001, and previously was VP, Marketing at Universal Pictures International Video, and Deputy MD, PolyGram Video.
