May 13, 2005 – New York, NY– Rich Westover has been promoted to Vice President, Promotion/Research & Information Systems, Island Def Jam Music Group, it was announced today by Steve Bartels, president, Island Records.

In this new capacity, Mr. Westover will be responsible for collecting, analyzing and disseminating radio airplay and callout research, as well as sales and new media data. His duties will include strategizing airplay objectives with senior level executives to maximize exposure of single priorities at radio, and analyzing weekly airplay/callout research on com­mercial radio, satellite radio, and Internet radio. Mr. Westover will research and report on upward/downward airplay and sales trends, and also research and analyze how airplay, chart information, sales data, and other pertinent information correlate to market performance. In addition, he will generate record priority evaluation reports for all senior and mid-level IDJ executives. Finally, he will oversee, from inception to implementation, new programs that allow for easy transfer of airplay information to wireless PDAs, e-mail and the IDJ Intranet.

In carrying out his duties, Mr. Westover will work closely with Ken Lane, Senior Vice President, Promotion, and Benny Pough, Senior Vice President, Urban Promotion, in the day-to-day operations of the IDJ Promotion department. Mr. Westover, who is based in New York, will report directly to Mr. Bartels, Mr. Lane, and Mr. Pough.

Mr. Westover has served as Director, National Promotion/Airplay & Research, Island Def Jam Music Group, since 2000. Prior to that, he spent two years as National Promotion Coordinator/Airplay & Research, Arista Records, starting in 1997. Mr. Westover attended Purchase College in New York, where he was graduated in 1992 with the Bachelor of Music degree.
