Baarn, The Netherlands, April 3, 2007 – Norbert Plantinga has been appointed as Managing Director of Universal Music Netherlands, with effect from June 1. The appointment was announced today by Universal Music Netherlands President/CEO Kees van der Hoeven, to whom Plantinga will report.

Plantinga, 34, will join the world’s leading music company from EMI Music, where he has been General Manager in the Netherlands since 2004. Previously, he worked at Universal Music at its international headquarters in London, and in the Netherlands. He has also held posts at Sony Music in New York and the Netherlands.

Kees van der Hoeven commented, “Norbert has proven himself to be one of this country’s most talented, versatile music executives, with the added virtue of international experience. We’re fortunate that he has accepted this new senior post, and confident that he will strengthen our successful company still further.”
