PAUL WEST PROMOTED TO SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, STUDIO & VAULT OPERATIONS, UNIVERSAL MUSIC LOGISTICS
Universal City, CA, October 1, 2008 — Paul West has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Studio & Vault Operations for Universal Music Logistics, it was announced today by Vincent Freda, Executive Vice President, Digital Logistics and Business Services.
Based in Hollywood, Mr. West will continue to oversee Universal Music Group’s studio and vault interests, including the three Universal Mastering Studios locations in the US and the legendary Disa Recording Studio in Monterrey, Mexico. He is responsible for the company’s Vault Services, including archive preservation and technology security implementations, while also overseeing the design and implementation of advanced digital production methodologies for Universal Music Group’s digital assets. During his time developing the studios, Mr. West has assembled an unparalleled audio engineering staff of multiple Grammy winners and nominees. He most recently served as Vice President of the division.

Mr. West has been with the company for nearly twenty years and has been a leader in developing standard archive formatting techniques in advance of many industry competitors. He is also currently working with the Library of Congress in creating a preservation policy for new forms of media.
