November 8, 2006 (New York, NY) – Christopher Roberts, Chairman of Universal Music Classics Group, announced today that Paul Foley is joining the division as General Manager, effective immediately. Based in New York, Foley will oversee all sales, pop marketing, new media, publicity and promotion for Universal Classics.

Paul Foley comes to Universal from Rounder Records Group in Cambridge where he was the General Manager for the past eight years. During that time he had a leading role in furthering the recording careers of such notable artists as Alison Krauss and Union Station, Madeleine Peyroux, Bruce Cockburn, Kathleen Edwards, Rhonda Vincent, and James Hunter, among others. Prior to his tenure at Rounder, Foley was Vice President of Sales for PolyGram Group Distribution for seven years, where he was responsible for catalog sales working with PolyGram Classics & Jazz, A&M, Mercury, Island and Def Jam. His career encompasses thirty years experience in the music business including retail, distribution and label management.
