New York, NY – May 23, 2005-Mitch Imber has been named Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for The Island Def Jam Music Group, it was announced today by Steve Bartels, President of Island Records & COO of The Island Def Jam Music Group. In his new position, Mr. Imber will oversee the activities of IDJ’s Sales, Marketing, Production, Strategic Marketing and the administrative functions of the Creative Services department. Mr. Imber is based in New York, and will report directly to Mr. Bartels.

Mr. Imber most recently held the position of Senior Vice President of Sales at Island Def Jam where he has been for five years. Prior to that, Mr. Imber was the Vice President of Sales, IDJ. He began his career in 1991 as the sales manager for PolyGram Distribution in New York, and in 1997 was appointed to Vice President of Sales at Universal Special Markets/Polymedia. Mr. Imber is a graduate of Ithaca College with a Bachelors’ degree in Business management.
