MAVIS TAKEMOTO NAMED EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, ADMINISTRATION, UNIVERSAL MUSIC & VIDEO DISTRIBUTION
Universal City, California, July 25, 2005 – Mavis Takemoto has been named Executive Vice President, Administration for Universal Music & Video Distribution (UMVD), it was announced today by Jim Urie, President of the market leading company. Most recently, she was Senior Vice President of Administration for UMVD. Ms. Takemoto will continue to be based at the company’s Universal City headquarters and reports directly to Mr. Urie.
In her new position, Ms. Takemoto will oversee all administrative and operational functions for the company’s three main businesses which include UMVD, Fontana and Visual Entertainment.
“Over the course of her twenty year career, Mavis has grown into a first-rate executive and an integral member of the UMVD team,” stated Mr. Urie. “She is truly the heart and soul of the company.”
Ms. Takemoto began her career as an Advertising Coordinator for Record Rack and went on to hold sales and advertising positions at Motown and Arista Records. She later joined MCA Distribution as a Marketing Coordinator. Recently, she celebrated her twentieth anniversary with UMVD.
