STOCKHOLM, 25 MARCH 2003 – Mårten Aglander has been appointed to the position of General Manager as part of a major restructuring at Universal Music Sweden, announced today by interim Managing Director Theo Roos, Senior VP, Belgium and Nordic Countries.

The changes, which take place with immediate effect, see Aglander – previously General Manager, Frontline – take responsibility for all of Universal Music Sweden’s activities and reporting directly to Roos.

Universal Music Sweden has also consolidated its four previous frontline marketing operations into two: one focusing on international repertoire and the other on domestic repertoire. The International department is now headed by Marketing Manager Johan Lindgren, formerly Marketing Manager, Mercury, and the Local department is run by Marketing Manager Mika Lepistö, previously Marketing Manager, Polydor.

Theo Roos commented: “I am delighted to promote Mårten Aglander to his new position: he has made a very valuable, positive contribution to addressing some of the problems facing the industry in Sweden.

“Already, a series of domestic signings are reaping dividends and together with the global releases from Stockholm Records – including new albums from the Cardigans and A*Teens – we intend to remain a dominant force for Swedish talent.”

The management team reporting to Theo Roos at Universal Music Sweden now consists of General Manager Mårten Aglander, Financial Director Kennet Oxelgren, Marketing Director UM3/ classics&Jazz / Polar Music International AB Marko Söderström, and Sales Director Jonas Thulin.
