August 5, 2005 – New York, NY– Karen Yee has been appointed Vice President, Artist Development, Island Def Jam Music Group, it was announced today by Greg Thompson, Executive Vice President of Promotions, Island Def Jam Music Group. In her new role, Ms. Yee will oversee all promotional and commercial appearances and performances for artists on the IDJ roster. Ms. Yee, who is based in New York, will report directly to Mr. Thompson.

“Karen’s passion for our artists and her rigorous attention to detail on their behalf make her the perfect choice to spearhead our dynamic Artist Development team,” said Mr. Thompson. “Always the consummate professional, I am thrilled to have Karen lead this staff as IDJ continues to break great artists.”

“Returning to Island after so many years and working again under the leadership of L.A. Reid and Steve Bartels is a wonderful homecoming,” said Ms. Yee. “I am excited about being part of the successful team at IDJ and especially in working with the label’s many artists.”

Ms. Yee comes to Island Def Jam Music Group from J Records, where she spent the last year as Vice President, Tour Marketing, after holding the same position at Arista Records since 2000. Prior to that, she spent one year at Momentum in New York, as Vice President, Account Services. She began her career in music at Island Records in 1989, where she served in positions of increasing responsibility until attaining the post of Vice President, Touring. Ms. Yee attended New York University where she graduated in 1989 with the Bachelor of Science degree in Management.
