January 18, 2010 – Effective immediately, Jose Puig has been promoted to General Manager of Universal Music Mexico based in Mexico City, it was announced on January 18th by Victor Gonzalez, President of Universal Music Mexico and Central America, to whom he reports.
Mr. Puig most recently served as Vice President, Latin Artists Marketing for Universal Music Latin America in Miami, a post he has held since 2006. Prior to joining Universal Music Latin America, Mr. Puig held several key roles at Universal Music Spain, including Marketing Director from 2004 to 2006, International Marketing Director Polydor Division from 2001 to 2004 and Label Manager from 1994 to 2001.
“Jose has been an invaluable asset to our company, and his fresh perspective and extensive experience has benefited our artists and business partners,” stated Mr. Gonzalez. “We are delighted to recognize all of his efforts with this well-deserved promotion.”
