May 6, 2005 – New York, NY– Jana Fleishman has been promoted to Vice President, Publicity, Island Def Jam Music Group, it was announced today by Laura Swanson, Senior Vice President, Publicity, Island Def Jam Music Group.

In her new role, Ms. Fleishman will oversee all aspects of publicity activities for selected artists and projects on the IDJ family of labels including Def Jam, Disturbing Tha Peace, and Roc-A-Fella Records. Her duties will include the design and implementation of publicity campaigns at local and national levels, utilization of new technologies to broaden the scope and impact of media campaigns, the creation of special events and social functions, as well as maintaining the department’s extensive contacts with major print and broadcast media. Ms. Fleishman, who is based in New York, will report directly to Ms. Swanson.

“As the Island Def Jam Music Group continues to develop the careers of new and established artists, Jana’s presence in the Publicity Department has taken on an ever-expanding profile,” said Ms. Swanson. “Working alongside her for the past year has made me appreciate both her imagination and her persistence in tackling the challenges of every new campaign that is carried out by the entire staff.”

Ms. Fleishman has served as Senior Director of Publicity, Island Def Jam Music Group, since 2000. Prior to that, she held the same position for two years at Elektra Records. She began her career in music as an intern at Mercury Records in 1992, and was appointed Associate Director of Publicity in 1997. The following year she joined Virgin Records as Director of Publicity.
