Joe, Chickenfoot and Brooke White Score Top 10 Independent Albums in U.S.

New York, NY, Thursday, July 23, 2009 – Fontana, the independent distribution arm of Universal Music Group (UMG), the world’s leading music company, tops the national independent albums chart this week with three albums in the Top 10 and six albums in the Top 15, according to Nielsen Soundscan.

Topping the independent album chart was the debut of R&B sensation Joe’s new release, Signature (Kedar Entertainment) at #1, followed by the self-titled smash from rock supergroup Chickenfoot (Redline Entertainment) at #6 and Brooke White’s High Hopes & Heartbreak (June Baby Records) at #7. Rounding out the Top 15 were Krizz Kaliko’s Genius (Strange) at #12, Chico DeBarge’s Addiction (Kedar Entertainment) at # 13, and Mos Def’s Ecstatic (Downtown Records) at #14.
