ELISE WRIGHT APPOINTED VICE PRESIDENT OF MARKETING FOR UNIVERSAL MOTOWN
New York, NY, September 30, 2005– Elise Wright has been appointed Vice President of Marketing, for Universal Motown, announced Shanti Das, Executive Vice President of Marketing for Motown, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Universal Records. “Elise has played a crucial role in the strategic and visual development of the Universal Motown roster for many years,” stated Ms. Das. “Her keen understanding of imaging and her ability to navigate the always changing marketplace to help gain exposure for our artists makes her an invaluable asset to the entire marketing department. All of Universal joins me in congratulating Elise on this well deserved appointment.”
Previously Ms. Wright was Vice President of Video Promotions for Universal Motown. From 2000 to 2003 Ms. Wright was Senior Director of Video Promotion for Universal Motown. Ms. Wright has been responsible for the strategic visual marketing campaigns of several key artists at Universal Motown, including Stevie Wonder, Nelly, India.Arie, Erykah Badu, Brian McKnight, David Banner and Akon, among others. From 1998 to 2000 Ms. Wright was Director of Publicity and Media Relations for Motown, helping to coordinate the media campaigns surrounding Motown’s 40th Anniversary Celebration, including the 1998 Superbowl XXXII halftime show, and an ABC TV documentary.
Ms. Wright began her music business career at Motown in 1995 as an assistant to the Senior Vice President of Publicity.
