NEW YORK, July 08, 2013 – Universal Music Group (UMG) has appointed Carl Park to Senior Vice President, Finance, East Coast Labels, it was announced today by Joseph Schmidt, Chief Financial Officer, East Coast Labels, to whom he reports. UMG’s East Coast Label Group includes the Island Def Jam Music Group and Republic Records. Among the areas under Mr. Park’s purview are label forecasting, planning and analysis, actuals reporting, deal and pricing analysis as well as T&E and AG policy enforcement.  Mr. Park will continue to be based in the company’s New York office.

“Over the years, Carl has proven himself to be an integral part of the company’s finance department,” said Mr. Schmidt.  “His breadth of experience and attention to detail has been key to our continued financial effectiveness and success.”

Previously, Mr. Park was  Vice President of Finance, having worked in a number of finance positions since joining the Label Group in 2006 as Director of Finance.  Prior to UMG, Mr. Park worked at MTV Networks, beginning his tenure there as a Senior Financial Analyst in 2000 and ending as a Director of International Finance in 2006.  He started his career in Finance at Coopers & Lybrand as an Associate in Business Assurance in 1997.  Mr. Park holds a BS in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University and is a CPA in Pennsylvania.
