Los Angeles, CA, January 7, 2012 – Highlighting their dedication to the Christian Music marketplace, Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) and the newly formed Capitol Music Group today announced the launch of, Capitol CMG Publishing. The new company, which combines two of the industry leaders in Christian music, EMI CMG Publishing and Brentwood Benson Music Publishing, will be based in Brentwood, Tennessee. The announcement was made today by Steve Barnett, Chairman & CEO of Capitol Music Group, Bill Hearn, President/CEO of Capitol Christian Music Group and Evan Lamberg, President of UMPG North America.

Capitol CMG Publishing will provide a new level of dedication and excellence in support of its songwriters and their songs–in the core areas of the business, including Contemporary Christian Music, Praise and Worship Music, Gospel Music, and Print Music Publications. Employees from both EMI CMG Publishing and Brentwood Benson will be part of the new organization going forward.

Also being announced today is the appointment of Eddie DeGarmo to President of Capitol CMG Publishing. Mr. DeGarmo, who will co-report to Mr. Hearn and Mr. Lamberg, formerly served as President of EMI CMG Publishing. Dale Mathews, President of Brentwood Benson will be leaving the company to pursue other opportunities.
