(New York November 6, 2006) Bill Richards has been appointed Vice President of Marketing for Universal Republic Records, it was announced today by Kim Garner, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Universal Republic Records.

“Bill’s innovative approach and unique grasp of the strategic complexities of the marketing environment will serve him well in his new capacity,” stated Ms. Garner. “His sensitivity to artists, and his keen understanding of new business models and the multiple platforms of exposure now available to our diverse roster make him an invaluable asset to the entire company. The entire Universal Republic family joins me in congratulating Bill on this well deserved promotion.”

Mr. Richards will report to Ms. Garner. His duties include coordinating and implementing marketing and imaging strategies for Universal Republic’s diverse roster of artists. Previously Mr. Richards was Senior Director of Marketing for Universal Records, appointed to the position in 2002. From 1999 to 2002 Mr. Richards was Regional Sales and Marketing Director at Zomba/Jive Labels Group. From 1995 to 1999 Mr. Richards was Regional Sales Manager for MCA Records, and based in Atlanta, GA.

Mr. Richards began his career in the music business as a merchandising representative for UNI Records in Atlanta, GA in 1992.
