ATHENS, May 5, 2011 – Tasos Xinaris has been named as Managing Director of Universal Music Greece, with immediate effect. The appointment was announced today by Vico Antippas, Regional President, Universal Music Group International.

Xinaris, 43, assumes responsibility for all aspects of Universal Music Greece, which include its activities in Cyprus. The company’s leading artists include Michalis Xatjiyiannis, Notis Sfakianakis, Nikos Vertis and Panos Kiamos.

Xinaris joins Universal Music after nine years as Chief Marketing Officer for the NetMed Group, a leading, multi-channel pay-TV broadcaster and content provider in the Mediterranean region. Previously, at channel provider NetMed Hellas, he developed branded music and merchandising lines, working with Sony Music and Virgin Megastores, among others.

Most recently, Xinaris has been a strategic advisor to the Greek state broadcaster, and a commercial advisor to Cyprus’ first pay-TV platform, Lumiere.
