ANA CLARA ORTIZ PROMOTED TO VICE PRESIDENT OF DIGITAL FOR UNIVERSAL MUSIC LATIN AMERICA
Miami, Florida, February 1, 2008 – Ana Clara Ortiz has been promoted to Vice President of Digital for Universal Music Latin America, a division of Universal Music Group (UMG), the world’s leading music company. This appointment was announced today by Jesus Lopez, Chairman and CEO of Universal Music Latin America and Iberian Peninsula.
In her new role, Ms. Ortiz will expand her current Mobile responsibilities to include all areas of Digital for Latin America. Formerly, she was Director of Mobile for Universal Music Latin America and has been a key architect in the creation of a strong and solid mobile team for the region. In the past year, Ms. Ortiz grew the company’s mobile revenue by over 100%, developing new business models and expanding into new markets, including Venezuela and Central America. She successfully created pre-load regional deals between manufacturers and Universal Music artists, including Juanes and Belanova with Sony Ericsson and The Killers with Motorola. Before joining Universal, Ms. Ortiz was the Senior Business Development Manager for AOL Latin America.
